90+ Day World Cruise From $20,000 Per Person Ocean-View Including All Taxes, Fees And Port Charges

Tired of seven-day sailings? Consider the alternative: a 90+ day world cruise.

Bora Bora, French Polynesia

Admit it

You can get away for three months. Grandchildren will still remember you when you return, neighbors will collect your mail and water your grass, and adult sons and daughters will get along fine without your weekly visit or phone call.

But the cost?

Surprise: You can pay less than $180 a night per person for an oceanview cabin including "hidden" additions like taxes, fees and port charges.

How about gratuities?

Gratuities, which quickly add up on long cruises, are often negotiable because the travel agent wants the big sale and the cruise line saves by filling a cabin for a months-long sailing rather than having to market it over and over again a week at a time.

And amenities?

Request complimentary extras that you know you will need, such as bottled water and sodas. This is particularly important if you drink alcoholic beverages, because two drinks a day at $10 each for 90 days, adds $1,800 to your total cost.

Ask for on-board spending credits

Some agents offer credits of $1,000 or more per person on some world cruises.

Insist your agent include "hidden" charges

Figure in taxes, fees and port expenses in the price quoted from the very beginning of your calculations. These charges, which can add $2,000 or more per person to your final cost, are included in the sample cruises listed below.

Make Sure The Ship Meets Your Needs

World cruises by definition include dozens of sea days. Carefully check out the ship's facilities, including accommodations, dining, entertainment, and topside spaces to make sure you will enjoy a satisfactory "home" as you explore the world.
